DRC Attachment

Its day rehabilitation centre (DRC) heheh not drug rehabilitation centre.Oh well it was indeed a short attachment at United Medicare Centre which was located at toa payoh area.Was only there for two days (yesterday & today) but i had alot of fun & of cos learnt something new.

Muaha basically the staff there are all philipinos so is Stella & Romel who was guiding and teaching us these two days (me,riodo,sk & ella).Very very nice people,even gave us 30mins extra for our lunch break.Although i was on my feet the whole day,the ah mas & ah peks there really make my day.

There's "stubborn" uncle,who loves to eat & everyone will threaten him that he'll DIE tomorrow cos he simply refuse to do any activities.Secondly there's the "gardener" uncle.I was assisting the residents to do the hand exercise when i noticed this uncle plucking dead roots instead of exercising.He's very friendly and even offer to throw our food wrapers & provided us tissue while we were having our morning break.Thirdly there's auntie oi leng,she kept calling us, "Missy ni shi wo de hao peng you" (Missy, you're my good friend).Auntie oi leng actually grab my hands,said thank you & cried after i assisted her while she was walking.I was actually shocked.Interesting she was once a reporter before she had a stroke and was in a coma state for 3months.And lastly one cute outpatient auntie aka BABY.She's so so cute.Don't believe go and ask ella,sk & riodo.I actually spent my last 30mins of the day today with her.Hehehe she was separating the beans and i kept disturbing her and she kept laughing la.Oh yah there's an ah ma who was a principal of xxx secondary school,she really speaks good english but she's already at stage 2 of dementia i think ):

Gosh i think i'll probably miss the place and the people there.Hahar even though i got whacked on my butt by an uncle (he used a rolled newspaper la,he was actually calling me),got spitted & hitted by a stubborn ah ma who refuses to go back to her room.All those situation was pretty challenging & has made me a better person & i learnt to be more patient.GAH~I think i should pick up hokkien at least or also cantonese so i can talk to more ah mas & ah peks.Walao wa eh ka tia! Hahaha.Okay whatever.

Oh yah went to watch scary movie 4 with riodo & sk just now.So funny & lame.Im going off to bed.Heading to the health promotion board tomorrow.Lurve you all(:
