Double The Happiness

Muahaa i woke up early and left my house at 9am when many of you are probably still sleeping & drooling away.Walao wei!Anyway im here not to complain but to share with you all about my trip to the red cross home for the disabled this morning.

Okay i admit, when i met sk at school i was complaining that im sleepy la,hungry la,tired la blablabla.Oh well both of us joined NP SOLEIL,i think its a cca whereby we are like volunteers going to homes helping out.So before the whole lot of us (about 40 people?) board the bus and head down to red cross home for the disabled,we took a group photo with my face looking as horrid & disgusting like a squashed potato.Okay la,i did try my best to open my eyes & smile.Lol.Oh god please tell me to stop COMPLAINING.

Anyway when we reached the home,i was like totally,i repeat, totally clueless. So both me & sk started off by pushing a...(oh god i forgot!) someone la,up to his/her room. After that we went to this small mini park(situated inside the home too) and feed the ah mas & uncle.Hehehe i feed one ah ma,her name is yoke sim.I was wondering whether she understands what on earth i was talking about cos i was like "ah ma hao chi ma?" for like a zillion time while i was feeding her.But she just gave me a smile that suddenly warms up my heart(: After feeding her i wheeled her back to her room, she so cute la wave "bye-bye" at me!

I went back down and joined the art & craft group.Hehehe got one auntie very funny la,she practically grabs everyone's hands and shake it,even i got a shake too.Muahaa got one ah ma show me a magic trick la.I was like "omg what are you trying to do?!?!" when she put her hands inside her pants and...TADAA!One white plastic bag appeared.Hahaha quite funny la,she prepared the plastic bag knowing that the other volunteers (mainly the middle aged woman) will bring them goodies~ like sweets & peanuts. You should see her eyes. Her eyes was like filled with joy when she got sweets & a packet of peanuts from the other volunteers. It's not the same kind of joy like you received an expensive & latest handphone on your birthday.

So i assisted about 2-3 people during the art & craft session but i paid more attention to Nasir,a middle aged malay man.Muaha i gave him a picture of winnie the pooh to colour it with paint and he's so clever! He could write numbers in proper sequence but not for the letters.Maybe i'll teach him how to write the proper ABCs on my next visit.I just can't wait to go there again((:

I really learnt alot & something meaningful today. If i were to die right after my visit to the home,i'll probably die with no regrets.Oh yah for your information the youngest resident at the home is as young as 4 years old.Can you imagine that? It's very sad that they are disabled.

Oh well both me & sk left around 1.30pm and had lunch at macdonald before i head to raffles place to meet my mum & sis.Hehehe went to collect the NDP tickets, ate ice cream with my mum's friend and went to plaza singapura where i bought a simple & cheap watch.

You make a difference in the lives you touch, no matter how brief the meeting was.
